When is a pandemic over?

Consider this unfortunately familiar scenario, several months ago a highly infectious , sometimes deadly virus infected humans for the first time. And then it spreads faster than public health managers can contain it. Now the world health organization (WHO) has declared a pandemic meaning there is spreading world wide .The death toll is starting to rise and everyone is asking the same question. When will the pandemic end? The WHO will likely declare the pandemic over once the infection is mostly contained and rates of transmission drops significantly throughout the world. But exactly when that happens depends on what global governments choose to do next. They have three main options . Raise through it , delay and vaccinate or coordinate nd crush.

1. In the first , governments and communities do nothing to hold the spread and instead allow people to get exposed as quickly as possible. Due to this measure hundreds and thousands and more get infected instantly and some may perished and some survive by building  immune responses. And due to this herd immunity comes in where the virus couldn't find any host . So the pandemic gets over in a short period of time.

2. In the second case , as soon as pandemic is declared . Both governments and communities around the world slow the spread of the virus to give research facilities time to produce vaccine. They buy this crucial time through tactics  that may include widespread testing to identify carriers , quarantining the infected and physical distancing.

3. The third strategy is co-ordinate and crush . The idea here is to simultaneously Starve the virus everywhere through a combination of quarantine , social distancing and restricting travel . The critical fact that is synchronise responses. In a typical pandemic when one country is peaking another may be getting its first case . Instead of every leader responding to virus in their jurisdiction here everyone must treat the world as a giant interconnected system it is. If coordinated properly , this could end the pandemic in few months with low loss of lives.

Redistribute for equilibrium

A n equilibrium is a state of system where all forces acting on a system is balanced and that is what we have been taught in our senior secondary education . We have multiple examples to understand this like a body floating on the surface of sea like a ship , demand and supply when becomes equal there is equilibrium , self doubt and confidence working together to maintain equilibrium and many more . I'm not writing about science but about equilibrium which do not reflects only about science but life too.   Before taking it further , I would like to ask , do you redistributes eggs so weight is even ? Some may say 'yes' in order to maintain equilibrium or 'egguilibrium' so that weight is even and handling it becomes easy or some may say 'no' by actually placing those eggs at the end of carton so that the weight is squarely planted in his/her hand and has the least amount of leverage away from their hand , thus decreasing the surprise of added weight leverage...

Secularism vs communalism

Secularism and Communalism are the two different social ideologies. In simple words, the former one stands with the belief that religion should not influence or be involved in the organization of society, education, government, etc.   On the other hand,   the attempts to construct religious or ethnic identity, incite strife among people from different communities, and to stimulate communal violence between those groups, comes under the definition of communalism. The world has over 200 countries as a secular state, among which China, India, United States, Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Bangladesh, Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, South Africa, South and North Korea, Iraq, Poland, Sri Lanka,  are the most popular ones. Even though Hindu nationalists did not participate in the Constituent Assembly to draft the country’s constitution, Hindu traditionalists were all present in the making of the constitution. There was a lot of pressure on Nehru and B. R. Ambed...

Which is more superior: Religion or humanity?

Religion and humanity have always been entwined with one another, laced in a beautiful yet cryptic mess with their relationship continuously being restructured by society. Both exist in the mind, soul and heart of every individual, weaving webs of connection across the globe and fusing together communities. Sometimes, it can be deemed as too difficult to isolate the two concepts of humanity and religion. Discovering where one concept ends and the other begins is considered confusing, thus bringing the question of ‘is religion or humanity more superior’ to light.                                            Courtesy : Forbes.com Only once you start to develop your understanding of the meaning behind the two notions of human interaction, do you begin to realise that humanity is far more superior to religion. Being the basis of society, humanity is the framework of how we, as humans,...
