It all started on the day when THE WALL STREET JOURNAL wrote about the Facebook policies collide with the Indian Politics. we saw what happened when a facebook post about Prophet Muhammad went viral in East Bengaluru leading to communal riot and in return given the unfortunate demise of three people shot dead after police taken the charge . This has happened neither the first time nor the last. Back onto the topic about WSJ post which said how the facebook policy of hate speech is faded away in India . This statement was put by Facebook Inc. employees on the fact that many Indian politicians are using Facebook as a source for their hateful speeches and violence. As T. Raja singh one of the member of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist party once said in an Facebook post that Rohingya Muslims immigrants should be shot, called Muslims traitors and threatened to raze mosques. By March of this year Facebook employees concluded that Mr. Singh has violated Facebook policy of hate speech . Even though Singh's account is still active just because his permanent ban on Facebook was opposed by Ms. Ankhi Das ( Company's top public policy executive for India , South , and Central Asia) on the fact that taking action against any politician from Mr. Modi's Party can damage the business of company in the country.
FACEBOOK CLOSE RELATIONS WITH BJP
Addressing the social media worker of BJP in 2018 , Amit shah said " We are capable of delivering any message we want to the public, whether sweet or sour , true or fake" . This was not the empty brag . he told about the instance where a BJP worker made a fake story in the run up of Uttar Pradesh assembly election in 2017 which went viral successfully. The story claimed that Akhilesh Yadav who was CM at that time slapped this father Mulayam Singh. " We were able to do this only because we had 32 lakh people in our whatsapp groups" he said. In June 2020 , Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Facebook) in a video call with 25000 employees spoke about a case in India of a leader threatening to take laws in their own hand if police won't able to clear the road where Anti - CAA protesters was protesting . From his context , it totally reflects about Kapil Mishra's speech which led to the deadly violence after his speech went viral . Facebook deleted his video but didn't ban him from Facebook. Another BJP legislator , a member of parliament posted cartoons and essays alleging that Muslims are spreading Covid-19 in a conspiracy to wage 'CORONA JIHAD' .
